There is nothing quite like standing at the bottom of a 190ft waterfall. If you’ve been, then you know. This one in particular takes some serious effort just to get to; with camping reservations booked a year out in advance, a 12 mile backpacking hike, and climbing down the side of the slippery canyon walls just to get in front of it. Was it worth it? Duh.

When the moon is out you need no light to walk around. The moon lights up the water and makes every look so beautiful. I was trying to capture what I saw through my own eyes that night.

We were camping near the south rim of grand canyon and after setting up our tent, we hurried to see the sunset. I used a ND grad filter to darken the sky by 0.6 stops.

The Grand Canyon is shrouded in mist for visitors. Today was not one of those days. Taken from a helicopter crossing.

This was a magical evening camping on the edge of the Grand Canyon at the North Rim. It was wonderfully cool and quiet under the trees - almost unbelievable that the canyon was just yards away. I grabbed the camera, steadied it on a rock and just played around with some exposure settings.

We woke up early to catch the dramatic sun raking across the Grand Canyon. We were surprised to see the canyon filled with blue fog, and an old man taking advantage of an unforgettable view.

Sand dunes of different sizes pile up and already now offer a great view. The wind sweeping over the dunes literally makes the sand dance in the sun and creates a very special atmosphere. We like it right away! The dunes are gradually bathed in an increasingly beautiful light as the sun sinks deeper and deeper behind them-while the sand shines golden yellow at the beginning, it shimmers a little later in delicate pink. We just let ourselves drift here, take a walk here and there and enjoy the relaxed and calm atmosphere. Simply a dreamlike conclusion for another beautiful day in the southwest!

This was taken on one of the stops on a 28 day 10,000 mile roadtrip a couple buddies and I took around the US right after undergrad graduation. This is one of my favorite spots, getting to sit on the edge with my feet hanging over a huge drop down into the river as the sunset put a beautiful red/orange glow on the rock around us was incredible.

We were on our way up Angel’s Landing at Zion National Park in Utah. It felt like the hike would never end but looking up to our final 0.5 miles was breathtaking and mesmerizing. This is what I saw.

My girlfriend and I were hiking Zion National Park. There was this small space we had to walk through. Before she went off ahead I made sure I grabbed this shot.

An early morning hike to this viewpoint was the best way to see Zion National Park for the first time.

From the bridge over Marble Canyon on US 89A we could see the storm blowing off the top of the mesa above the Vermillion Cliffs. Within ten minutes the storm arrived with rain and wind - even a little hail.

We were on a road trip from Canada down to Arizona and we stopped at every national park that we could find along the way. Utah was amazing! The diversity in landscape was insane. We showed up to Zion without reserving a campsite and luckily we swiped up the last spot. It was a fairly populated campground but waking up to views like this made up for it. This photo was taken just before we started our hike up Observation Point Trail.
